Go to Singapore and in addition to the classic vending machines for snacks and snacks you will find a vending machine for supercars: Ferraris, Porsches and other dream cars just a click away.
We are used to seeing everything but this just isn’t so! Now even super sports cars and luxury dream cars.
From an initiative of Autobahn Motors, a Singaporean company specialising in the buying and selling of used supercars, which has created the world’s largest self-service facility where you can buy a car.
The world’s largest vending machine is a 15-storey glass and steel building that houses up to 60 cars inside. Customers browse through the catalogue of available cars on a tablet located on the ground floor and choose the car of their dreams.
Within a couple of minutes a robot trolley picks up the car from its compartment and delivers it to the customer’s feet.
And the payment? In coins? Obviously not, also because the car distributor is manned by Autobahn Motors personnel who take care of all the legal aspects of the purchase. With this project, the company not only wanted to amaze its very demanding clientele, but also solve a problem that is very much felt in Singapore: that of space.
‘We needed to expand our business and at the same time be creative and innovative,’ Gary Hong, general manager of the company, explained to Reuters.
However, the Singapore distributor is not the only ‘distributor’ of cars: there are some in the US, Japan, and also in Europe.Carvana, an American site specialising in buying used cars, has several car vending machines where you can pick up your newly acquired car.
